Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information
The aim of the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) is to contribute to the elimination of conflict around the world and the creation of a harmonious and peaceful society for everyone on earth. In order to achieve this goal, the Foundation engages in activities such as providing grants to universities and equivalent institutions that understand the philosophy and intent of the Foundation. As well as providing courses, symposiums, conferences, and others, that are aligned with that direction, focusing on topics such as on regional integration.
Personal information gained by the Foundation is used only in line with this purpose of the Foundation complying with requirements of the “Personal Information Protection Law” and its related regulations. Thus the Foundation shall handle personal information properly and safely, and do its utmost efforts to protect it.

1.Acquiring personal information
The Foundation will acquire and use personal information only when the person in question furnished it on his own will after being apprised by the Foundation how it is used.

2.Intended use and protection of personal information
Personal Information acquired by the Foundation shall be used only for the predetermined purpose, and it shall not be offered to any third party except in the case when the Foundation entrusts some other party with a task requiring to use the information according to predetermined purpose, when laws or regulations require such an offering, or when the information is needed to protect the person-in-question’s life, body or property.

3.Structure to control personal information
- (1) Every piece of personal information shall be appropriately handled and be protected with preventive measures so that there will be no unauthorized access to it, no theft or taking out of it which causes its loss, destruction, falsification or leakage.
- (2) When the Foundation is going to entrust some other party with a task requiring to use personal information, it will conclude a personal-data handling contract with the party and supervise the party to ensure tight control of the information.
- (3) Inquiries by the person himself about handling of his/her personal information (concerning its disclosure, revision, or suspension of its use etc.) shall be answered and dealt with properly at any time. A contact person shall be assigned by the Foundation to meet complaints about the handling of personal information. He will take necessary measures promptly and appropriately if the Foundation has received such complaints.

4.To establish and maintain an effective compliance system
- (1) The Foundation shall carry on its operation strictly observing the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Law and its related regulations.
- (2) The Foundation shall, at anytime, review and revise its policy and structure of protecting personal information held by the Foundation if such a review or a revision becomes necessary according to, for instance, the change of the description of its business, the change of laws affecting its operation, or the change of its social environment or of information technology environment.
