Establishment of One Asia Club as an incorporated nonprofit organization. One Asia Club started in
this month at a gathering of 150 like-minded members from Japan, South Korea, China and Mongolia,
intending to promote the formation of Asian Community in the future. The club soon extended its
activities to thirteen cities in seven countries. |
December 2009: |
Establishment of One Asia Foundation as a general incorporated foundation. This was to cease NPO
activities and to concentrate on operations of financial support of colleges/universities which were
going to open the course on “Asian Community.” |
March 2010: |
Setting up of an office for the One Asia Foundation employing three full-time staff members. |
August 2010: |
Broadcasting the director’s special lecture through the network of Korea National Open University.

Start of the Foundation’s donated courses at universities in Japan (College of International
Relations of Nihon University) and in South Korea (Korea University, Konkuk University and Woosk

Holding of the first OAF convention in Tokyo with participation of three hundred persons from
seven countries including 100 professors/students. |

Together with Center for Contemporary Korean Studies, Interfaculty Initiative in Information
Studies of the University of Tokyo, OAF co-sponsored an international symposium “Toward the
formation of Asian Security Community” at Fukutake Hall of the University of Tokyo. |

Outlining OAF’s activities in a special program (thirty minutes) of Tokyo Metropolitan Television
(titled as “We aim at forming Asian Community”). |
November 2011: |
One Asia Foundation participated, as a supporting organization, in the event of “Asian Economic
Community Forum, 2011” held in Inchon, S. Korea. |

Published the first book of OAF book series “For the Creation of Asian Community. |

One Asia Foundation participated, as a supporting organization, in the first conference of
International Academic Society for Asian Community (held at Tohoku University Centennial Hall). |

One Asia Foundation held its second convention in Inchon, South Korea. A total of 350 parsons
participated in this event including 140 professors and 70 students. |
August 2012: |
Participating, as a supporting organization, in the symposium commemorating “The 20th Anniversary
of the Normalization of Sino-Japanese Diplomatic Relations, and the 40th Anniversary of Korean-Japan
Diplomatic Relations” held in the auditorium of Peking University. |
November 2012: |
One Asia Foundation participated in a symposium “The Way to the Formation of East Asian Community”
co-sponsored by five organizations including Japan Association of Political Science and Sociology
(held at Kyoto University Clock Tower Centennial Hall). |
March 2013: |
One Asia Foundation held its third convention (for the regions of South East Asia and South Asia)
at a museum where once the first Asian-African Conference (Bandung Conference) was held. From
fourteen countries including ASEAN 9 countries, a total of 280 persons participated in this
convention including 130 professors and students coming from 74 universities. |
May 2013: |
One Asia Foundation opened its Hong Kong office. |
August 2014: |
OAF held its fourth convention at Jeju Island in South Korea. More than 600 professors and
academicians came from 200 universities located in 29 countries in Asia and other regions. |
August 2015: |
OAF held its fifth convention at Shanghai, China. More than 600 professors and academicians came
from 240 universities located in 30 countries in Asia and other regions. |
August 2016: |
OAF held its sixth convention at Phnom Penh, Cambodia. More than 600 professors and academicians
came from 250 universities located in 31 countries in Asia and other regions. |

Publication of Japanese and English "One Asia Foundation:Seven Years of Progress 2009-2016"and the

OAF held its seventh convention at Nagoya, Aichi prefecture, Japan. More than 600 professors and
academics came from 300 universities located in 31 countries in Asia and other regions. |

OAF held its eighth convention at Hanoi, Vietnam. More than 650 professors and academics came from
324 universities located in 31 countries in Asia and other regions. |
August 2019: |
OAF held its ninth convention at Seoul, South Korea. More than 650 professors and academics came
from 325 universities located in 32 countries in Asia and other regions. |

Renamed to Eurasia Foundation (from Asia). |
