[3 Nov]Key-note address by Mr. Sato at the Asia Economic Community Forum 2011
“Asia Economic Community Forum 2011”held a symposium on “From regional cooperation in Northeast Asia to the formation of Asian Community” on November 3, 2011, and Mr. Yoji Sato made the key-note address on the occasion. TheAsia Economic Community (AEC) Forum is a gathering of leaders from Asia and the world in the fields of academia, politics and business with aims to explore the identity of Asia and the direction for its future development while discussing cooperative measures within the region to form an economic community. This meeting of the Forum 2011, which took place for three days, had the agenda; “Emerging new world order: an opportunity or a crisis for a prospective Asia Economic Community?” On the afternoon of November 2, student groups gathered from all over the region held a “Model General Meeting of Asia Federation.” One Asia Foundation awarded its Chairman’s Prize to the excellent team(s) participated in this model meeting. E-DAILY, Korea’s leading online news paper, had an interview with Mr. Yoji Sato before his delivery of the key-note address and ran a story of the interview on its e-paper dated of November 3. [21 Sep]One Asia Club Ulan Bator, participated in a get-together meeting
A get-together meeting, in which One Asia Club Ulaanbaatar participated, was held at Choibalsan, Dornod Province in Mongolia on September 21, 2011 (Wednesday). At the meeting, participants held talks on measures how to contribute to the peace and security of North East Asia, as well as for the whole Asia region, through mutual cooperation and human exchange, and how to divide the responsibilities in the efforts among themselves. Three Associations One Asia Club Ulaanbaatar, Standing Committee on Food and Agriculture of Mongolian National Assembly, and Northeast Asia Association co-hosted this get-together meeting, ensuring the participation of members of the national parliament, governors, Chinese ambassador to Mongolia as well as many local big figures. On this occasion, Mr. Yoji Sato, Chairman of One Asia Foundation, made a speech on the subject of “the role of Mongolia in human exchange in Asia, and what we expect from Dornod Province.”

[13 Sep]“Asia Community Course” started at Henan University (Kaifeng, China)
Henan University, which was the first university in China subsidized by One Asia Foundation, ran a special course on “Asian Community,” and Mr. Yoji Sato, Chairman of the Foundation, delivered a lecture of the course on September 13, 2011.

On September 15, 2011, Woosuk University started the second-year course on “Asian Community,” Mr. Yoji Sato Chairman, of the One Asia Foundation, delivered the first lecture of the course.

On August 29, 2011, Mr. Yoji Sato, Chairman of the Foundation, delivered the first lecture of the course on “Asian Community” at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

[8 Aug]Mr. Yoji Sato, Chairman of the Foundation, visited Peking University((Beijing, China)
Mr. Yoji Sato Chairman, of the One Asia Foundation, visited Peking University from 8 to 10 August 2011 and exchanged memorandums on a special course to be held at the University. Peking University was to start the course on “East Asian community” in the spring-term of 2012.

[22 Jul]Mr. Yoji Sato, Chairman of the Foundation, delivered a lecture and awarded scholarship for a special course at Nihon University, College of Art(Tokyo)
On July 22, 2011 Mr. Yoji Sato, Chairman of the One Asia Foundation, delivered the last lecture of the special course on “The connection between art and culture in Asia.” After the lecture, 14 students were awarded “One Asia Foundation Scholarship” for their excellent participation in the course.

[1 Jul]Holding of “One Asia Club Tokyo Convention 2011”
On Friday, 1 July, “One Asia Club Tokyo Convention 2011” was held at the Hotel Lungwood in Tokyo. A total of 380 members and guests from 14 cities of 7 countries attended this event. The keynote lecture titled as “Toward East Asian Safety Community” was delivered by Mr. Kang Sang-Jung (professor, the University of Tokyo) in the morning. In the afternoon, Mr. Eiichi Shindo, representative of International Academic Society for Asian Community, chaired a representation and panel discussion of six panelists on the subject of “Toward the formation of Asian Community.” During the time for questions and answers after the pane; discussion, not a few persons present (including students and general public) participated in a lively discussion.

[29 Apr]An inspection tour to Central Asia
Mr. Yoji Sato and members of One Asia Foundation went on an inspection tour to Central Asia from 29 April to 6 May 2011. The team visited seven cities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan and mostly visited universities of each region, explained the idea and purpose of One Asia Clubs and had an interview with concerned staff members of the institutions. Mr. Sato gave a ninety-minutes speech at the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, which was one of the universities he visited during the tour.

[15 Feb]Regular meeting of One Asia Club Seoul.
Regular general meeting of One Asia Club Seoul was held at the Prima Hotel in Seoul on 15 February. In addition to OAC members in Seoul, many members from other regions including Tokyo, Osaka and Ulaanbaatar participated in this meeting.

[13 Jan]Mr. Sato delivered a lecture at College of International Relations,Nihon University.(Shizuoka)
On 13 January, Mr. Yoji Sato, Chairman of One Asia Foundation delivered the last lecture for an endowed course of Asian Community.He talked about the subjects on “Toward the establishment of Asian Community” in the first half of the lecture and on “The world as one in the near future” in the second half. After the lecture, a discussion meeting was held at the Panorama Lounge. Mr. Saburo Sato, dean of the College, and some other members of the College as well as students who took the course attended the meeting. Before starting the meeting, Mr Yoji Sato, as the Director of the foundation, awarded the One Asia Foundation Scholarship to 15 students slected among those who took the course.
